MICRODERMABRASION

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure which uses tiny crystals to exfoliate the skin drawing out debris and impurities with suction. It is a chemical-free treatment that removes the dead and dry outer layer of the skin’s surface revealing fresh, healthy skin underneath. Microdermabrasion rejuvenates the skin's surface resulting in a brighter complexion. Benefits include enhanced smoothness of the skin, a brightened complexion, the reduction of fine lines and pores, and a more even skin tone. This treatment targets blackheads and comedones leaving deeply cleansed pores.

MICRODERMABRASION BENEFITS

FAQ's

Professional microdermabrasion devices pass over the skin via a vacuum or air pulsating wand. This process gently “sandblasts” dead skin cells off the surface. Microdermabrasion has been used safely around the world for years to provide subtle yet visible improvements on the skin’s surface. In less than an hour, clients can emerge with a refreshed complexion.

You only need one microdermabrasion treatment to notice softer, smoother skin. That said, your skin regenerates on a monthly basis. About four weeks after your treatment, you may notice that your skin doesn't look quite as radiant and youthful as it did. Microdermabrasion is gentle enough to have done every two to four weeks. Doing so can prolong the effects of healthy cellular turnover.

When you receive microdermabrasion from a skilled technician, your risks should be very minimal. The common side effects that may occur after this treatment include redness, minor swelling, dryness and flaking, and increased photosensitivity (wear sunscreen). There is a risk of scarring if microdermabrasion is performed on darker skin tones. To avoid unwanted side effects, schedule your microdermabrasion with an experienced provider.

You don’t need to worry about pain during microdermabrasion. It’s a gentle service that only works on the surface of the skin. In some cases, you may experience mild burning or stinging sensations afterward. These effects are temporary and will go away on their own.

Microdermabrasion can provide long-lasting results, but keep in mind that your skin’s improvements may not be permanent. Your skin will likely change over time as you are exposed to sunlight, squint or use your facial muscles, and continue to age. Microdermabrasion can be repeated over time.

Microdermabrasion treatments provide you with immediate results, and improvements are noticeable right away.
